- What is reCAPTCHA and why do I need to verify that I am human?
-
reCAPTCHA is a Google product that helps protect our website from spam and abuse. A “CAPTCHA” is a test to tell human beings apart from computer viruses. It is easy for humans to solve, but hard for viruses and other malicious software to figure out. By adding reCAPTCHA to our sign-up form, we are blocking automated software from accessing our form with the intent of exploiting it for malicious purposes.
-
- Is reCAPTCHA accessible for persons with disabilities?
-
Google’s reCAPTCHA works with most major screen reading software and includes the ability to switch from a visual challenge to an audio challenge. Please see Google’s website for more information regarding accessibility with reCAPTCHA.
-
- Why haven’t I received a confirmation email?
-
If you do not receive the confirmation message within a few minutes of signing up, please check your spam email folder just in case the confirmation email was delivered there instead of your inbox. If so, select the confirmation message and click not spam, which will allow future messages from NYSLRS to get through.
-
- I responded to the confirmation email, but I’m not subscribed. What did I do wrong?
-
The confirmation email that you receive will have a “Yes, subscribe me to the list.” button that you must click to confirm your email address and complete the subscription process. Responding to the email will not confirm your email address.
-
- How do I update my email address?
-
At the bottom of our monthly Member E-News email, you will find a link to “Update Your E-News Profile.” Clicking the link will bring you to a page where you can update your email address. When finished, be sure to click the “Update Profile” button at the bottom of the page.
